ANSWERS

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
Yes.  A $50 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to reserve your party spot.

Do you offer any food?
Our facility does not offer any food service except for a drink machine and snack bars. Birthday Parties are welcome to bring in any food they would like to provide.

Does anyone help me in the party room?
We will set-up and clean-up the party room. You are responsible for the rest of the party portion and food service.

When do you need a final head count?
If your final head count is still within the range of the party you booked then there is no need to contact us.  However, if you have more or less climbers than expected, then we require any adjustments to be made 5 days prior to the party. For example: You book a party for “Up to 15 Climbers” and your head count is 13 then nothing needs to happen. However, if you have MORE then 15 then this would effect the number of staff, as well as the price. Or, if you need drop down to a lower bracket then we require 5 days notice.

Can we provide our own belayers?
Due to issues of liability, as well as varied belayed systems, only Downingtown Rock Gym staff are permitted to belay for parties.

Do you have air conditioning?
Yes. However, it won’t ever feel like a refrigerator in here and it is always hotter toward the top of the higher walls.

What should I wear to come climbing?
We suggest comfortable clothes that allow you to move around easily (i.e. athletic attire or pants with some stretch to them) and athletic shoes. We suggest shorts of knee length if you are wearing a harness.

Who has to sign a waiver?
Any person who wants to climb, belay or take a class must sign a participant Agreement. If the participant is under 18 then their parent or court-appointed legal guardian must sign the waiver on their behalf.

Who may sign a waiver?
Parent or court-appointed legal guardian. NOT: Host families for exchange students, Aunts/Uncles, Grandfathers/Grandmothers, Etc. You may NOT sign for a child that is not legally yours.

What age do you recommend for birthday parties?
Given the height and logistics of the facility, we recommend birthday parties for ages 6 years and older.

Where is the link for the party invitation?
You should have received a link once your party was booked. if not, you can find them here: CLICK HERE
